High-altitude safety belts refer to labor protection products that prevent high-altitude workers from falling or hang workers safely after falling. High-altitude safety belts should be stored in dry and ventilated warehouses and are not allowed to come into contact with high temperatures, open flames, strong acids, sharp and hard objects, or be exposed to the sun for a long time. Unqualified or expired high-altitude safety belts must be handed over to the Safety Supervision Department, which will scrap them and not allow them to be used.
Working at heights is a very dangerous job. In addition to wearing a high-altitude safety belt, it is also important to use a safety rope.
Today, the editor will introduce how to correctly choose a safety belt for high-altitude work?
General selection of high-altitude safety belts:
1. Safety
When buying a safety belt, safety should be considered first.
2. Comfort
The user must understand the risk of falling in his workplace and choose a suitable safety belt according to the risk of falling in use. Any occasion with a risk of falling must choose a fall suspension safety belt, that is, a full-body safety belt with a leg strap.
A separate waist belt can only be used for work limit, not for those occasions with a risk of falling; otherwise, once a fall occurs, the human body will lose balance and be susceptible to collision injuries. At the same time, the impact force caused by the fall is concentrated on the waist, which is very likely to cause serious injuries such as spinal fractures and internal organ ruptures.
3. Rope length matching the safety belt
For high-altitude safety belts equipped with safety ropes, the length of the safety rope should not exceed 2 meters, otherwise once a fall occurs, it will bring the risk of free fall of the user, too long distance, and impact force exceeding the human body's tolerance limit.
Selection of high-altitude safety belts in special circumstances:
1. When working in special circumstances, such as welders working at high altitude, safety belts made of flame-retardant materials must be selected. Conventional safety belts will be damaged by contact with welding slag and sparks, and will not provide protection when falling.
2. Roof and tank top operations. As long as you don't reach the edge, it is impossible to fall. The activity area of the operator is limited by the limit rope (belt). In this case, a limit belt can be used, or other types of safety belts can be used.
3. Use ladders for operation. For various ladders outside the wall, chimneys, and various ladders in the workshop used for high-altitude operations, operators need to face the ladder when climbing, and the safety belt is connected to the anti-fall device on the ladder. Since there is no single-hanging point ring on the chest of the safety belt, it is necessary to at least equip a double-hanging point safety belt for this operation.
