Safety belts are personal protective equipment to prevent workers from falling at heights. They are composed of belts, ropes and metal accessories, collectively known as safety belts. They are suitable for high-altitude operations such as fences, hanging, and climbing, but not for firefighting and hoisting.

Safety belts for high-altitude operations

So, what types and models are there for high-altitude operations?

Safety belts are divided into fence safety belts and hanging and climbing safety belts according to the way they are used.

Fence operation safety belts are suitable for pole operations such as electricians, telecom workers, and gardeners. The main varieties are: electrician fence belt single belt type, electrician fence belt anti-drop type, general type I fence rope single belt type, general type II fence rope single belt type, telecom worker fence rope single belt type and cowhide electrician safety belt, etc.

Suspension and climbing work safety belts are suitable for high-altitude operations such as construction, shipbuilding, installation, maintenance, lifting, bridges, quarrying, mining, roads and railway shunting. There are many styles, which are divided into three types according to the structure: single belt type, double strap type, and climbing type. Among them, the single belt type includes six varieties: scaffolder type I suspension safety belt, scaffolder type II suspension safety belt, railway shunter suspension safety belt, telecommunication worker suspension safety belt, general type I suspension safety belt, general type II suspension self-locking safety belt; the double strap type includes five varieties: general type I suspension double strap safety belt, general type II suspension double strap safety belt, general type III suspension double strap safety belt, general type IV suspension double strap safety belt, and full wire rope safety belt; the climbing type includes three varieties: general type I climbing movable belt safety belt, general type II climbing movable safety belt, and general climbing fixed type.

According to the variety series, the safety belt uses Chinese pinyin letters, which represent different types of work, different usage methods, and different structures in the order of front and back. The meanings of the symbols are as follows: D—Electrician; DX—Telecommunications worker; J—Scaffolder; L—Railway shunter; T—General (painter, shipbuilder, mechanic, etc.); W—Pole operation: W1—Pole belt type; W2—Pole rope type; X—Suspension operation; P—Climbing operation; Y—Single belt type; F—Anti-fall type; B—Double strap type; S—Self-locking type; H—Movable type; G—Fixed type.

Examples of symbol combinations are as follows:

DW1Y—Electrician pole belt single belt type.

TPG—General climbing fixed type.
